Greetings,

I wanted to share a poem on happiness from a dear friend of mine who passed away on Tuesday. "Happiness is a gift of the heart, born of the wishes therein, when, you forget yourself, wherever you are, and begin each day with a grin. You can't be unhappy with a smile on your face, nor, when your thoughts, are unselfish; kindness wells, in the realm of God's grace, not more in life do you need. The hand of the Lord will your being caress, when goodness dwells in your soul. No more can there be than true happiness, whatever in life be your goal."

FULL MOON IN LIBRA April 2, 2007 at 10:16 am PDT (13 degrees)

The keynote for this Full Moon is courage. It takes courage to grow, to face the unknown. It takes willpower to overcome the pull of the past. It takes resolve to endure discomfort or disapproval. The Moon in Libra usually represents a positive force for building bridges in relationships. However, the interplay of Mercury and Uranus during this Full Moon favors originality over understanding. There is a tough square between Saturn and Venus creating feelings of insecurity adding tension to the situation. This Lunar phase contrasts the Aries Sun need for independence with the Libra Moon penchant for codependency. All Sun-Moon oppositions stake out extreme positions that seem incompatible but can awaken us to new perspectives. Recognizing that there are numerous options along the spectrum of going solo or partnering up, increases our choices. It is time to redefine relationships to make them workable.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the energy of initiation, of breaking new ground and birthing new forms. It is also the first fire sign, and fire requires continuous fuel. Creation never ceases. Nature abhors a vacuum. As creators, we too perpetually encounter new edges, new frontiers. This Full Moon illuminates that we are heading toward a new horizon and facing a new challenge.

Are we practicing what we are preaching? Are we living in accordance with our truth? As Pluto moves retrograde (until September 7), we're forced to examine every area of our life and to eliminate what is not in alignment with our mission. The message to check our spiritual compass and reorient ourselves, if necessary, is amplified by Jupiter's approaching station retrograde on April 5. Jupiter stations at 19°47' Sagittarius and moves retrograde until August 6, encouraging us to review our options, reexamine our beliefs, and get back on track if we have taken a detour.

At the Full Moon, the Sun at 13° Aries makes a wide trine to Saturn at 18° Leo (exact on April 8) and also to Jupiter at 20° Sagittarius (exact on April 9). This forms a fire grand trine, which is in effect the first two weeks of April because of Jupiter and Saturn's slower motion. This is a powerful circuit of energy, spurring bold moves and inspired acts. Jupiter in Sagittarius boosts optimism, Saturn in Leo advises us to follow our hearts, and the Sun in Aries nudges us to take action. Mercury's conjunction with Uranus sparks our intuition, while Venus's square to both Saturn and Neptune forces us to "square" our ideals with our reality.

This Full Moon reminds us: "If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we are not really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security." (Gail Sheehy)

PERSONAL MOON CEREMONY Find the time to have your own private Moon Ceremony. You have a three day window of energy in which to manifest your intentions. The day before, the day of, and the day after.

For the Full Moon, jot down two or three areas of your life you want to clean up. The Full Moon is the time to release or get rid of the things that no longer serve you, so by the next New Moon your slate is clean for new beginnings, or fertile for the planting of new seeds.

Possible phrasing: I now release______ from my life. I now release my destructive ________ patterns. I now let go of fear, jealousy, anger, envy, negative thinking, etc... Remember, think and envision as though you have already let go of what you have released. See yourself free and living your dreams. Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself. The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want to be different then we must change our thoughts. What you think about grows!! "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the key.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds that may be coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fulfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts and emotions set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fulfillment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Do not concern yourself with current conditions or worry about controlling it. The universe takes care of those details. Just keep seeing what you want and give no energy to what you don't want. Patience is required.

Opportunity Periods are a wonderful tool to maximize our efforts. Opportunity Periods reflect favorable aspects of the Moon. The energies of the Moon impact us in a very direct way. Using the positive energies that the Moon showers upon the Earth, to our benefit, makes good sense. Opportunity Periods have proven to provide helpful energy to non routine tasks.
